About this event

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2026 | 7:30–8:30 PM: Two Artists. Two Mediums. One Creative Dialogue. The Cultural Center “Our Texas” invites you to discover LINE. TEXTURE. FORM., an exhibition bringing together the intricate textile compositions of Irina Savostenko and the expressive ceramic sculptures of Saida Fagala. Through two seemingly different materials—thread and clay—the artists explore the beauty of texture, the language of form, and the emotional power of artistic expression.

EXHIBIT ON VIEW NOVEMBER 20–DECEMBER 31, 2026

Irina Savostenko — Painting with Thread

Irina Savostenko transforms ordinary threads into extraordinary works of art. Using cotton, wool, acrylic, and polyester fibers, she creates richly textured compositions filled with color, rhythm, and dimension.

Her distinctive technique originated in childhood, when her grandmother taught her to create pictures from straw. Today, every centimeter of her artwork is meticulously arranged by hand, combining the sensitivity of painting with the dimensionality of sculpture.

“I work with color like a painter, but I use thread like a sculptor. The relief feels alive and warm—it’s something you just want to touch,” the artist explains.

Her creations invite viewers to experience the warmth, tranquility, and tactile beauty of textile art.

Saida Fagala — Bringing Clay to Life

Ceramic artist Saida Fagala explores the expressive possibilities of clay through sculptural portraits, human figures, and decorative vessels.

Coming from a family of artists, Fagala combines artistic tradition with a distinctive contemporary vision. Her imaginative ceramic works capture human emotions, personalities, and moods through expressive forms, subtle details, and vibrant colors.

Each sculpture tells its own story, transforming clay into a captivating expression of individuality and imagination.
