League City will give away over 250 free trees on Tuesday, April 22 at 8 a.m. at 600 West Walker Street as part of Earth Day — the trees provided by Trees for Houston and Keep Texas Beautiful using funds from HEB’s and Joe V’s Smart Shop 'Our Texas Our Future' grant program range in size from 4 ft to 15 ft and are limited to one per family while supplies last.
🎭 Culture
The Dickinson ISD Student Art Showcase opened yesterday as part of League City's Public Art Initiative, displaying over 75 pieces by Dickinson High School students at the art gallery in the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center at 400 West Walker Street and running until May 14.
The free gallery is open Monday through Thursday (7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.) and Friday (7:30 a.m. to noon), and a reception is planned on May 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. with light bites and refreshments.

Six candidates for council Position 5 discussed future challenges and proposed solutions for growth on League City's west side (which has nearly 4,000 acres of undeveloped land) during their campaign events.
