The Galveston County Food Bank will hold two mobile distributions this week—events that were paused due to a produce shortage—and will help local residents access fresh food.
League City's Parks and Recreation Department offers adaptive programs that include weekly Zumba, arts and crafts and adaptive dances for special needs residents.
The department seeks more programs, instructors and volunteers to expand these offerings.
🌲 Environment
City officials removed about 12 acres of invasive Chinese tallow trees at the Dr. Ned and Fay Dudney Clear Creek Nature Center as part of a multi-year effort to restore native prairies and protect local habitats.
Property owners with over an acre are advised to safely remove these trees using professional help—this measure aims to prevent further spread.

League City officials will hold a public meeting today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center, 400 W.
Walker St. — they will discuss a road improvement project along Turner.
🏥 Health
The community blood drive will take place on Thursday, May 15 at the Civic Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.—local donors can help boost the lifesaving count toward 500 after April's 345 donations, and participants will receive a free beach towel and free A1c test.
