A public meeting will be held Tuesday, May 27 at 6 p.m. at the City Council Chambers — 200 West Walker Street to allow residents to voice opinions on two proposed property annexations.
League City officially swore in its new councilmember, Scott Higginbotham, on Tuesday, May 13 at a special meeting—he was elected on May 3 to serve until November 2028.
League City is preparing for future growth with a Capital Improvement Plan that acts as a five-year forecast for projects such as parks, road upgrades, and facility improvements — the city has reinvested over $160 million in the past three years.
City staff and the City Council review the plan annually, and residents and local departments may submit ideas for upcoming projects.
Mayor Nick Long discussed the Westside Master Plan — a blueprint for developing nearly 4,000 acres west of Hobbs Road and north of FM 517 — in a recent interview with Communications Director Sarah Osborne.
He also welcomed new councilmember Scott Higginbotham and noted that League City annexed about 210 acres near Challenger Stadium.
