The Hometown Heroes Recreation Center offers a busy schedule for seniors every weekday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.—including activities like Zumba, strength training, and art classes as well as sessions on Medicare and mental health.
Seniors 55 and older must obtain a membership pass (free for League City residents and subject to fees for non-residents) and eligible seniors 60 can join the free lunch program served from 11:30 a.m. to noon.
🏛️ Government
League City council voted to raise the senior and disabled residential homestead tax exemption from $100,000 to $200,000 — a change designed to lower tax burdens for eligible residents.
League City officials approved the Community Green Space Irrigation Grant Program—offering grants equal to assessed capital recovery fees to eligible homeowners’ associations, nonprofits and public entities.
The program is expected to lower costs for green space projects.
