COMMUNITY NEWS

  • S. Mike Lacy Post 554 is accepting donations for Hill Country every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The post plans to make several trips over the coming weeks to deliver the supplies.  The Daily News (Galveston County)

CULTURE NEWS

  • The City’s free Public Art Gallery at the Johnny Arolofo Civic Center hosts a new exhibit of works by local artists who applied for the Artists in Residency program — which offers three amateur artists nine-month studio space in exchange for teaching art classes and participating in gallery events — while a public reception and meet and greet with the three residents will be held on July 18 from 6 to 8 p.m.  City of League City

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • League City released its 2025 Drinking Water Quality Report that explains how the city tests for contaminants, monitors drinking water sources, and urges residents to conserve water. The report includes a Safe Drinking Water Hotline and instructs residents to call Public Works Utility Manager Tommy Arredondo—281-554-1041 for water quality questions.  City of League City

  • The Galveston County Health District will host a school supply giveaway and offer back-to-school vaccinations at its Immunizations Clinic (9850 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, Suite B-104) several times through the end of the month.  The Daily News (Galveston County)
