Galveston County and League City announced on July 22 that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers approved Phase 2 of the Lower Clear Creek and Dickinson Bayou Watershed flood mitigation study.
The phase—focused on refining plans and developing funding strategies for regional flood projects—follows Phase 1 from 2022 that identified key work to reduce flood risk.

League City has issued a request for proposals—seeking firms to plan, design, finance and develop a 53-acre mixed-use entertainment district on land currently occupied by the Chester.
The Houston Galveston Area Council will host feedback sessions on its Regional Transportation Plan 2050 — a plan to invest in roads, public transit, bike and walking trails, freight systems and new technology — to gather community input.
