The state certified the Galveston County Museum after a comprehensive review of its collections care policies and an on-site inspection + the museum is now approved to house artifacts from local archaeological digs.

League City's EcoFest and Arbor Day Celebration — set for November 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Community Center at 400 S.
Kansas Ave. — will feature sustainability classes, exhibits, vendors, crafts, giveaways, a yard sale, prizes, and free trees while supplies last.

Newport Park is scheduled to close on November 3 for renovations that will add volleyball courts and a concrete trail and improve the playgrounds, shade structure, soccer field, and lighting system* The park will remain closed during the four-month construction period.
